    Chelsea want Hilario as third keeper 

    Jose_Mourinho” Chelsea’s Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho is close to signing Henrique Sampaio of Portuguese side Nacional as the London club’s third keeper.

    The 30-year-old, who played under Mourinho at Portuguese champions FC Porto in the 2002-03 season, is poised to sign with Chelsea for two seasons, daily sports newspaper O Jogo said Wednesday.

    Larsson – Happy to leave Barca! 

    Henrik Larsson is happy about his future and has no regrets of leaving the champions Barca. Larsson played a crucial role and set up both the goals to bring down Arsenal. When asked about his important role in the crucial win he told “Frank Rijkaard’s instructions were to stay central and move and try and win it”. Larsson came off the bench to help Barca 2-1 win.

    Bend it like Ahmedinajad 

    Mahmoud Ahmedinajad training with world cup squad

    With three weeks in Soccer World Cup 2006, all eyes are on the training and prepartion of 32 participating nations. On the other hand, some are lobbying FIFA to expel Iran from the tournament. Mercifully, most European leaders have shunned the idea, and FIFA has made clear it’s a non-starter.

      i strongly feel Ahmedinajad should be given permission to watch his nation play, if politics is mixed you are killing sporstman spirit and the very spirit of football world cup

    Barca Drown Gunners 

    Barca 2 – Arsenal 1, that’s the final score at the final of 50th UEFA Champions League. Henry missed a point blank range shot in the 4th minute and then a kick in 6th minute. 37 minutes later Arsenal fire through Campbell’s header but they were unbalanced by the red card shown to goalkeeper Jens Lehmann for bringing down Samuel Eto’o.

    Cameroon defender Wome joins Werder 

    Pierre_Wome Cameroon international has joined Werder Bremen from Serie A side Inter Milan on a free transfer.

    The 27-year-old defender has signed a two-year contract with the Bundesliga outfit.

    Wome has played for Cameroon 67 times and scored five goals.

    Polish president to attend Germany match 

    Lech_Kaczynski Polish president has accepted an invitation from his German counterpart to attend Poland’s FIFA World Cup opening-round match against Germany, a Polish presidential aide said on Wednesday.

    Lahm out for 14 days with elbow injury

    Shattered Henry to decide Arsenal future before World Cup 

    Thierry_HenryArsenal captain has promised to settle the guessing game surrounding his future after a heartbreaking Champions League defeat by the club who may be paying his wages next season.

    The 28-year-old said he would decide whether or not to sign a new contract with the Gunners before heading to the World Cup with France, and insisted Wednesday’s result at the Stade to France would not affect his thinking.

    Injury of Shevchenko 

    Blokhin Coach Oleg Blokhin says Ukraine’s FIFA World Cup prospects are being compromised by a wave of injuries in their defence and to striker Andriy Shevchenko.

    Blokhin, addressing a news conference two days after naming his squad for the finals in Germany, said Ukraine’s initial injured problems had centred on their goalkeepers.
