    Henry gets a buzz from Saha link-up

    Thierry Henry pronounced himself more than happy with the way he linked up with Louis Saha in attack for France in their latest World Cup warm-up.

    The pair united to give France the first of their two goals against Denmark on Wednesday with Henry deflecting in the Manchester United forward’s header on 13 minutes.

    Royal command performance for dancing Crouch of England

    Britain’s Prince William has been given a personal demonstration of “The Crouch”, lanky England forward Peter Crouch’s bizarre goal-scoring celebration during a World Cup warm-up match.

    On a visit to the England training camp, William burst out laughing and shook his head as the 6ft 7in (2.04 metre) Liverpool forward gave a reprise of the stiff-legged robotic shuffle that has apparently sparked a dance craze.

    Mourinho wants Roberto Carlos

    Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said he wants Real Madrid’s Brazilian international Roberto Carlos to join the English champions next year because the 33-year-old is the world’s best defender.

    “Roberto is 33 but I consider him to be the best in his position and I wish it would be possible,” he told private Portuguese television station TVI.

    Knee injury rules Edmilson out of World Cup

    Brazilian international defensive midfielder Edmilson has been ruled out of the World Cup with a ruptured left kneecap, team doctor for the defending world champions Jose Luis Runco confirmed.

    The 29-year-old Barcelona player, a member of the 2002 World Cup-winning side, believes he picked up the injury during his Spanish side’s 2-1 Champions League win over Arsenal earlier this month.
