Cameroon defender Wome joins Werder
Cameroon international has joined Werder Bremen from Serie A side Inter Milan on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old defender has signed a two-year contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
Wome has played for Cameroon 67 times and scored five goals.
He made 12 Serie A appearances for Inter last season and played in seven Champions League matches.
Wome missed the penalty that cost Cameroon a place in the World Cup finals.
Cameroon needed to beat Egypt to qualify for Germany, and with the scores level at 1-1 the match went into injury time.
Cameroon were awarded a penalty in timed added on and Wome’s kick hit the post.
Inter offloaded another player on Wednesday with veteran defender Giuseppe Favalli joining city rivals AC Milan, also on a free transfer.
