English football’s governing body, the FA, fined Premiership champions Chelsea 10,000 pounds for the behaviour of their players in March’s match at Fulham.

The FA also warned Chelsea as to their future conduct.

The club were charged with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the match with their neighbours at Craven Cottage, which the champions lost 1-0.

The club denied the charge and requested a personal hearing, and the FA’s disciplinary commission today found the charge to be proven.

Tensions boiled over midway the second half of the game when a Didier Drogba equaliser was ruled out for handball following furious protests from Fulham’s players.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho accused Fulham’s players of influencing referee Mike Dean.

At the time, Dean consulted with his linesman before awarding a free-kick in favour of the home side, a decision vindicated by television replays that showed Drogba clearly using his hand to control the ball.
