English referee Howard Webb will not be kept on by Uefa for the knockout stages of Euro 2008.
Webb courted controversy in his opening game in charge after awarding co-hosts Austria a late penalty which allowed them to draw 1-1 against Poland.
It led to the Webb receiving death threats and fierce criticism, but Uefa subsequently handed him Wednesday’s Group C clash between Greece and Spain.
Despite that, he has not been awarded a game in the knockout stages.
