Headbutt of Zidane spawns chart-topping hit

A song called “Headbutt” written the day after the World Cup final is set to become the smash hit of the summer in France less than three weeks after its release.
The track, inspired by France’s star player Zinedine Zidane, who was sent off in the final for headbutting Italy’s Marco Materazzi, was written in 30 minutes by three despondent French fans.
“Headbutt” is the most downloaded track in France over the last two and a half weeks with 80,000 downloads. Distributor Warner Music said Thursday it would be highest selling in France this week judging by mid-week sales figures from supermarkets.
The song is slated to be distributed in 20 countries, including Japan and the Philippines, and Italian and Spanish versions are planned.
Light-hearted lyrics poke fun at hapless striker David Trezeguet, who missed in the penalty shootout which decided the final, and recall Zidane’s heatbutt which earned the French captain a red card.
