Ljungberg continues foot rehab
Swedish star and Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg is continuing rehabilitation training of his injured right foot at a gym in Stockholm, Swedish news agency TT said.
Ljungberg was the only member of Sweden’s World Cup side not to turn up for the team’s training session on Sunday.
“I hope that he (Ljunberg) will return to routine training at the end of this week,” Sweden’s coach Lars Lagerbaack told TT.
The 29-year-old revealed last week his battle against injury includes having blood drained from his foot after every match.
Ljungberg has been plagued by a string of injuries to his hip, calf, shoulder, rib, hand and toe since Sweden’s second round defeat by Senegal at the 2002 World Cup.
