    Di Stefano leads poll to pick Real Madrid’s best players

    Real Madrid’s iconic former striker Alfredo di Stefano leads an online poll to pick the 100 best players in Real Madrid’s history, the Spanish club said Monday.

    Di Stefano, who played for the club from 1953-63 after beginning his career with Argentinian outfit River Plate, has gathered 11,553 votes, just 66 more than France’s Zinedine Zidane who retired from football in 2006 after five seasons with Real.
