Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura believes the Parkhead club can still retain their Scottish Premier League title if they beat arch-rivals Rangers in this season’s two remaining Old Firm clashes.
Japan international Nakamura couldn’t stop Rangers beating Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox last weekend as they opened up a six-point lead over their fiercest foes with a game in hand.
But both remaining derby clashes are at Celtic’s Parkhead ground and Nakamura said: “We will never give up hope. We must now win both home games against Rangers.

AS Roma suffered a crucial blow to their Champions League hopes as captain and talisman Francesco Totti was on Sunday ruled out of Tuesday’s clash against Manchester United.
Roma host the English champions at the Stadio Olimpico in the quarter-finals first leg but will have to do without their star player.
United are already overwhelming favourites to progress in the tie and Totti’s thigh injury picked up during Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Cagliari will not have helped Roma’s cause.

English star David Beckham can only hope his first full season in Major League Soccer is not filled with more nights like his opener for the Los Angeles Galaxy.
The Colorado Rapids routed Los Angeles 4-0 Saturday in the season opener for each club, the Galaxy dropping their seventh game in a row at Denver in a spoiled debut for Dutch star Ruud Gullit as coach of Beckham’s club.
“Not our best night,” Beckham said. “In the first half we didn’t play our best but we created chances. When you don’t play good football you don’t deserve to win.”

Argentinian striker Fernando Cavenaghi scored twice as Bordeaux battled back from a goal down to beat nine-man Nancy 2-1 in the French championship on Saturday.
The victory kept Bordeaux in second place in the table, seven points ahead of Nancy, and boosted their hopes of Champions League football next season.
Nancy haven’t won at Bordeaux since 1996 but they were ahead on Saturday on the half-hour mark when Moncef Zerka scored following a corner from Benjamin Gavanon.
Cavenaghi, who had started the day with 10 goals to his name this season, levelled on 53 minutes when Fernando Wendel’s corner was met by Souleymane Diawara.

Cooke scored one goal and helped create two more as the Rapids defeated the Galaxy 4-0.
Colorado spoiled the opener of Beckham’s first full MLS season, and the debut of new Galaxy coach Ruud Gullit.
Cooke set the tone, firing a shot past goalkeeper Steve Cronin in the 10th minute.
Christian Gomez, Omar Cummings and Colin Clark added goals in the second half for the Rapids.
